A great introductory course to the wonderful world of ceramics! In this introduction to ceramics course students will be introduced to two foundation hand-building techniques, pinch method and coiling. This programmed course will cover not only these hand-building fundamentals but also will cover principles for aesthetic techniques and glazing such as carving, sgraffito, underglaze washes, and foundation glazing techniques. Students will also be introduced to the wheel in this course. No prior learning necessary for this course. What you get: * Access to qualified ceramics teacher * Use of all tools and equipment * Use of onsite glaze, underglaze and clay. * All firing of work made on site incisive in price anything made offsite will incur an additional firing cost. Tea/Coffee and soft drinks are available for a $2 gold coin donation. *What to bring/wear *An old towel is a MUST *Apron *Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty *Closed in shoes *Warm clothes in cooler months *Your ideas and creativity *Snacks and water if desired If you require additional clay, the Studio has plenty in the retail area ready for you. The cost of the course includes all materials and glazes etc for 5 weeks.
