Service Description

Art Mania is a specialist teaching provider qualified and experienced to teach a range of ages both young and old. Our youth programmed classes are designed especially with the targeted age group of 9+ in mind. This programmed class will engage young people in both functional and sculptural ceramics making, building skills across handbuilding. Note: We do not accept students before 4pm, as they can not be safely supervised before this time. Due to the popularity of our classes, please book ahead to ensure a place as spots fill up quickly, often before the term starts! Students must be booked in before attending class. Students will learn skills in pinch pot, hand modelling, coils, and slab construction, appropriate usage with a range of tools and experience a range of ceramic surface treatments including stamping, carving, embossing, glazing, painting patterns and pictures with glaze. After learning basic construction techniques participants creativity will be encouraged as they are invited to interpret fun and relatable themes including Animal Mugs, Fruit Salad, Dwellings, Suspended, Flora, Collections, Flying Ducks, Portraits, Water, Lit Up, Landscape and more. As each new theme is introduced students will be introduced to established Artists who have worked with similar concepts across a range of media not limited to ceramics.
